GOLF WELCOMES NORTHERN IRELAND EXECUTIVE ANNOUNCEMENT ON REOPENING OF GOLF COURSES
Golf Ireland warmly welcomes the news that golf will be one of the first sports to resume under the next step of the Northern Ireland Executive’s reopening pathway.
Golf Ireland continues to work in close consultation with the NI Executive, Department of Communities and Sport NI to update a Return to Sport Protocol document which must demonstrate an incremental approach upon reopening.
The NI Executive has scheduled a review of the relevant data and case numbers on 16 March before announcing a possible date to proceed to the next step, as soon as this is known it will be communicated to all clubs. Return to Golf Protocol will also be circulated to Clubs as soon as the return date is known and Golf Ireland seek the support of clubs in the strict implementation of these documents to ensure a safe return for all.
Golf Ireland are also continuing to engage intensively with the Irish Government, highlighting the safety and health benefits of golf and working towards the resumption of golf as soon as the public health situation allows.
Further details of the NI Executive’s Pathway are available HERE
Kind regards,
Golf Ireland
