Clubhouse Notice Boards and Captain’s Day Update

Now that the Clubhouse is open again, members, old and new, should acquaint themselves with the various notices regarding Club Rules and Regulations, Fixture List, Inter-Club team information, WHS handicap conversion information etc. that can be found on the various notice boards.

We will still be sending out some information by email but will also post notices on the boards as we did pre Covid.

I would also remind members of the requirement of having played at least 4 qualifying competitions to take part in Captain’s Day.

14. To be eligible to play on Captain’s Day, Members must have returned a card from at least four handicap qualifying competitions prior to Captain’s Day.

To be eligible to play on President’s Day, Members must have returned a card from at least eight handicap qualifying competitions prior to President’s Day.

Also regarding Captain’s Day, members should ensure that they have ample funds in their competition accounts.

As previously mentioned the cost of the Captain’s Day competition will be £7.00 (this includes a complimentary burger at the 10th tee box. Other refreshments may also be available at the members own cost).

There will be a Starter, who will check off members before they go out to play and issue each member with a ticket that they must exchange for the burger.

It has also been decided that for this year, due to continuing Covid restrictions, the Prize presentations will take place the following Saturday (3rd July) at 4.00pm. Hopefully this will allow for a full turnout of prize winners.

Important Information to Members

Members,
After 2 weeks of trawling through ineligible cards without any detail of players names, dates, competition and handicaps written in, it is with regret that from this Saturday (15th), all incomplete cards without the correct information will result in the members being disqualified from the competition.
Any member who fails to return a score into the irelandclubs.com website before 9pm on the day of the competition, WILL be suspended the same day the following weekend. All scores must be returned whether completed or not.
Thanks to the members who actually did read Kenny Lee’s email on how to fill a card in correctly. It’s not complicated, so let’s get it right moving forward.
Thanks,
Victor Watson
M&H Secretary

IMPORTANT NOTICE re Personal Golfer’s Insurance

Dear Member,

The Club has just been informed that Aon, the company that provided our Personal Golfer’s Insurance will no longer be providing that policy.

Therefore as of yesterday, 1st April, you no longer have this cover. (Stolen clubs, Hole in One bar bill, certain payments for injuries etc.)

The Club will be looking into getting another provider, if possible, but there appear to be few companies that provide a blanket cover for all club members as Aon did.

Our search has been hampered by the Easter holidays, with companies already contacted, off until Tuesday.

If we cannot get cover for all members, it will be necessary for members to purchase their own insurance individually.

I apologise for the late notice but I only received this information after I was able to obtain the Club’s post yesterday when the Centre reopened.

I will keep you updated when I get further information.

Yours faithfully,

Kenny

Dear Member,

With golf the first sport permitted to return following the most recent lockdown, there is a significant responsibility placed upon the sport and its participants to ensure that behaviours are appropriate and in keeping with current public health guidance relating to the ongoing pandemic. Please read the attached document, (and already sent to Golf Club members), to see a full list of rules and guidance outlined by the Golfing Union of Ireland.

Golf Tee Time Booking

Golf Tee time bookings open this evening at 6pm for the 1st April. All bookings will be made through BRS. Currently tee times are available in 2 balls and for strictly 9 holes per day.

Protocols will be reviewed in a couple of weeks and hopefully we will return to four balls over 18holes.

Golf at Allen Park is strictly for members only at present.

Competitions Antrim Golf Club Tee Times

Antrim Golf Club have withheld a decision to return to competitive golf until the protocols are reviewed again in the next few weeks.

Saturday and Sunday priority tee times remain available for Antrim Golf Club members to book on the front nine at the normal club times. The back nine is available for all Allen Park members to book.

Practice facilities including the driving range will remain closed until the protocols are reviewed.

Toilet facilities will be available in the Centre, on a strictly one in and one out basis. Members are encouraged to use toilet before they leave home.

Changing rooms and lockers will remain closed until the protocols are further reviewed.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and adherence to the rules and protocols above. If you have any further queries or questions please email more@antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk
